THE HIDDEN SECRETS OF A "MULTI-MILLIONAIRE"

Are you ready for some

by Neil Jenman

Queensland based wealth spruiker, Adam Hudson, claims to have discovered secrets that turned him into a multi-millionaire.

Ah, those secrets again.

And Hudson wants to share them with us all.

"Attention all Employees" is the headline on his fax inviting thousands of 'ordinary people' to his seminar at the Sydney Convention Centre next Monday night (August 9).

A few weeks ago, Hudson said, "I am only holding this seminar twice this year." But things are going so well on the spruiking circuit, Hudson has decided to share his secrets in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Auckland and Christchurch.

And he's making a "free offer" – "two VIP seminar tickets" plus a free DVD "valued at $69.00" which reveals more secrets. That's a total of value of $227.00 – all for free. Who "values" spruiking material? The spruikers themselves, of course.

Hudson, however, goes to great lengths to distance himself from other spruikers. "In recent years we have attended seminars in our thousands," he writes, adding that, "We have seen thousands of people loosing (sic) thousands of dollars." True.

Hudson says he is "tired of seeing seminars roaring about how good they are."

"Dear Friend" he writes to thousands of strangers, telling us that his seminar is NOT about getting rich quick and NOT about investing in property and NOT about the stock market.

So what is it?

Well, to find out, you have to flock up with all the "dear friends" to Hudson's free "closed-door session" where you will "discover" (that's what happens when you find a secret) "a brand new wealth education system".

To his credit, Hudson makes no secret of the fact that he has failed in business five times. But there are a few secrets he seldom shares.

His biggest secret is that Adam Hudson used to own another spruiking company called New-Life Corporation. His partner was Henry Kaye.

That's where Hudson learned that the real secret to getting rich is to convince others that you have the real secret to getting rich.

Henry Kaye raked in tens of millions by telling people he had "a revolutionary new system". Today, Hudson claims that he, too, has a "revolutionary new system".

Ah, those secrets and those new systems.

But there's another secret twist to the Hudson system. And here it is.

Like Henry, Hudson is flogging wealth courses (better ones, he'll tell us). Hudson's six-part course will set you back just $2,000.

But here's the big secret. Once you pay him $2,000, Hudson will sell you multiple copies of his course for just $500 and you, in turn, can sell it to all your friends for $2,000, picking up $1,500 a pop.

Thousands of people can do this. We can all sell to our friends and, on each sale, $500 goes back to Adam Hudson.

At best, it's like a financial version of a multi-level marketing, such as Amway. At worst it's a pyramid style of wealth spruiking with Henry Kaye's former business partner at the top.

In a recent magazine article on Hudson, his secret was explained this way, "Selling information means low overheads. And that meant money." Lots of money.

Of course.

As all spruikers know, the big profits are in the CDs and DVDs which cost a few cents each but can be sold for thousands of dollars using the spruiker spin that it's about "financial education". What's a lousy few thousand if you discover things you didn't know?

Well, here's another secret that spruikers rarely reveal. You can go into any bookshop and buy a book such as Noel Whittaker's Golden Rules of Wealth or Peter Waxman's Investing in Residential Property. And get better information from people with a record of success, not failure.

Or you can walk into your local newsagent and, for just $5.95 each month, you can pick up a copy of Money magazine. This month, you'll read about Adam Hudson under the Watchdog section.

Their advice on Hudson can be summarised in one word – No.
