UPDATE from Neil Jenman: September 2007. The Ollis V Jenman defamation case commenced in the NSW Supreme Court on September 3, 2007.

On September 11, it was adjourned until December 10, 2007. My lawyers have asked me not to comment on this case until it is over.

I can, however, direct those who are interested in knowing about the case to any press reports about it.

My wife and I wish to thank those people who have contacted us and offered their comments about this case.

The following is an edited medley of messages received lately about Victor Warren Ollis.

Hi Neil,

Like many others, I took Vic Ollis to court for the money he owed me. An order was awarded in my favour for more than $40,000.

Ollis has ignored the legal judgement.

Ollis is now saying that he is receiving a large settlement from you in a defamation case and that he will be using your money to pay out all his debts to everyone.

As you know, Ollis is an habitual liar and cannot be trusted in any way but I thought you may be interested in his latest stalling tactic.

Keep up your great work in bringing a lot of these conmen to notice.
RESPONSE

Well, I confirm that Victor Warren Ollis is suing me for defamation. He does not like what I write about him. He also blames me for the story on 60 Minutes last year.

But even if Ollis succeeds in his defamation case against me, I doubt that my assets will be enough to cover what he owes to his legion of victims. Ollis has been conning people since the 1970s.

So, if Ollis owes you money, don't count on him paying you out of what he collects from me. It's an audacious fob-off. And, of course, I am defending the case.

He is a three-time convicted felon who has served three prison sentences.

Of course, Mister Ollis suing me for calling him a crook is a bit like Mister Ed suing me for calling him a horse.
