AGENT DOESN'T UNDERSTAND

Falsely claims to be associated with Jenman.

I am writing to express my concern about an agency in Stafford (Queensland) claiming to be a representative of your system. I believe they are making misleading claims.

Recently, I rang the office of Coronis Realty with an enquiry about selling. I asked the receptionist if Coronis was a part of the Jenman system. I was assured that they were a "Jenman agent".

I then asked if they were Jenman APPROVED, to which the receptionist replied "yes".

I spoke to a salesman, Jeff Cornford, and I also asked him if his company was Jenman 'Approved'. He assured me that Coronis was Jenman 'Approved' and they were one of the top Queensland performers for Jenman.

Cornford also suggested he was the top salesperson for Jenman in Queensland. He also commented, "Jenman has been sold out to Pittard".

I was extremely disappointed to discover that these representatives were assuring me of their Jenman affiliations when this was a blatant fabrication.

If they can't differentiate between truth and lies with affiliations, they will have the same problems when dealing with properties.

RESPONSE

To our knowledge, the founder of this business, Theo Coronis, always acted ethically. When Theo semi-retired in 2002, his son, Andrew Coronis, took charge.

Coronis Realty was accepted as a Jenman Approved agency on February 1, 2003.

Four months later, on June 11, 2003, Coronis Realty decided NOT to be a Jenman Approved agency.

"While we value the [Jenman] Approved philosophy we are unable to get our heads around it properly," explained Andrew Coronis. "We feel it is hypocritical to try and sell an idea we do not fully understand or fully believe in."

For more than two years, Coronis Realty has continued to tell consumers that its agency is approved by Jenman.

It seems young Mr Coronis is right. Ethics is a difficult philosophy for him to get his head around.
