OH DYMPHNA, HOW COULD YOU?

Your latest claims are recycled and ridiculous.

TO DYMPHNA BOHOLT FROM NEIL JENMAN

Dear Dymphna

Just over three years ago (in May 24, 2004), we had a lengthy discussion about a marketing letter aimed at attracting investors to a wealth seminar presented by you.

The letter was riddled with enormous exaggerations and misleading and deceptive comments. I told you that it was one of "the worst I had ever seen".

Although the letter was signed by you, you said it had not been written by you.

You said it had been written by a man who markets seminars (spruikers), a notoriously dodgy character called Jon Giann (aka Jon Giannopoulos) who has often been in strife for making misleading and deceptive claims.

You said you were naïve in allowing Giann to write such a letter and it would never happen again.

Later, I spoke with Giann and he said he would not be doing any more letters for you. He laughed when I asked him why he promoted seminars when, according to his own spiel, he could get super rich super quick if he just followed the claims made by spruikers.

Well, now, in 2007, three years later, Jon Giann is sending a recycled version of the same letter with the identical exaggerations and misleading claims.

This time, though, he's added some whopping spelling errors ("floored" when he means flawed) and some foul language (it's never nice to see swearing in letters to strangers).

Again, the letter is signed by you. It's also got a photo of you at the top of it.

The recklessness of the claims is amazing.

For example, there's that usual lying line commonly used by spruikers about this being "the first time and maybe the last time ever" you have done this seminar.

But, at the end of the letter, it says "the last time I did these events" the seminars sold out.

How could they sell out in the past if this is the first time they have ever been presented?

Dymphna, it's an old but true cliché that to be a liar you need to have a good memory. To tell such obvious lies is just, well, plain amateurish.

And, considering that you yourself have been in trouble with the authorities for false and misleading claims, I am astonished you would once again team up with Mr Giann and make more false and misleading claims.

Oh, Dymphna, I only have a three word question for you.

How could you?

FOOTNOTE from Neil Jenman

I considered placing a copy of Dymphna's letter on-line; but I got scared by the thought that some [foolish and naïve] people might fall for it and end up forking out thousands of dollars.

Now, please understand that foolish people are not necessarily bad people. They are often very good people. Indeed, all of us, at times, are foolish about something.

I just don't want anyone to be sucked in by Dymphna Boholt's latest methods.

If, however, you send me an email (neilj@jenman.com.au) and give me your solemn word that you will NOT pay her any money, then I will let you have a peek at what any astute or financially savvy investor will know is a laughably ridiculous attempt to rip-off the hopeful, the lonely and the desperate.
